Can someone on an Irish/British provisional licence drive a hite car in America?

British Car

Could please tell me is it possible to a hire car on a Irish/UK if the car has been hired out by a fully licenced driver?

Most companies in the US will not allow drivers under 25 to drive their cars, or will charge a ridiculously high rate.

A foreign learner’s permit will not be accepted in the US. A provisional license (that allows the driver to drive alone) is valid for driving. Bringing an International Driver Permit with the foreign license will help as well, but is not mandatory.

I suggest you call the rental company and ask, but I have a feeling they will either say no or they will charge a premium.

Are car dealers obliged to tell you about GAP insurance prior to buying from a franchised or independent dealer. My mother bought a car for my brother a year ago, and was never made aware of this shortfall insurance.

Yesterday, a vehicle failed to give way and crashed into my brother Vauxhall Astra Sxi – 5 door (52 reg), and it’s now a write off.

The insurance company will no way compensate him for the total cost that was paid for the car, but weren’t the dealers obligated to tell my Mum about Gap. She would have certainly taken it out if she had known

Dealer is not obliged to tell you about gap insurance all they wanna do is sell the car. Recently finance companies have begun offering the cover for a little extra in with the price of the repayments..

A dealer may offer it, but the ultimate responsibility is with the person owing money. If they want to be fully insured, they need to research all options!!

Not all dealers may want to mention GAP insurance, because they do not want the customer to focus on the fact that the vehicle will lose value!
